I want to take this time to remember the men and women who gave their lives to save others during the 9/11 tragedy. My thoughts go out to their families as well. Their dedication and sacrifices will never be forgotten by me.

Everything Is Beautiful

A little after the fact-but it was only a matter of time before the Loons would "release" a statement. Crazy-eyed Michelle Bachmann does it again. Her ludicrously, unsupported statement that her god sent Hurricane Irene to "get the attention of politicians" shows just how crazy she really is. Thank ya Ja-he-sus. Who's advising this nut-job? Oh yeah, that Dusty book book of hers.

These erroneous statements are the hallmark of a Christian wacko-extremist; one who shows No respect for the people who were tragically affected by these catastrophes. For Bachmann and the others like her, this is just another "sign of the times", and she welcomes it with open arms and a closed mind to reason.

Peace Man

When I was Christian I held the belief that our world could never know peace until the "Prince of Peace" came back. He would usher in peace and we would live happily ever after. The End. What a stupid man I was.
Here I was, gleaning foreign policy from a dessert tribe's scribbling; people who thought the world was flat. (Not to mention that this hope was based on the idea that Jesus was the end of this prophesy.)
But now I know we can have peace in our lives as well as our Country and our world. We have the capability to grow food and feed everyone on this planet. We have the technology to extend medical care to each and every person who needs it. We have the ability to house and care for each and every person alive today.
Then what is the problem?
We can't get along with one another.
Why?
Religion!
Ask yourself honest questions. Why are we fighting in the Middle East? In Afghanistan? In Iraq? Because someone thinks a "Man in the Sky" (spooky children) told them they could have some land? No matter what side your foam finger is for, that doesn't sit right with reason.
Come on! Open your eyes. We could be a peaceful world working together, but instead we have perpetuated idiotic, crusty ideology from ignorant Iron Aged men, to another generation.
Frustrating!

"I Know Him". Give Me a Break

You know...why is it when conservative Christians hear about another mass murdering nut job sparking up violence in the name of Gawd, their comments preclude "their" God from such atrocities. "They don't know the True God, or His risen (Zombie Alert!) Son, Jesus." (Can you hear my "deep voice" tone?) As if they have some FFFFFing coaxial connection to pleasantries of this deity of theirs.
Theirs is the true God. The God of love and peace (read your dusty bible). While those other quacksos are worshiping the false god of Baal. I can't stand the their pompous piety. They don't have a freakin shred of evidence to support their Gawd and yeeeet they know theirs is the right One. Please.
I don't know what's more pathetic-those pious comments or the fact that I once made them.

For No Other Reason

I don't need a dusty Ol' Deity to tell me I should be good or that I should go out and do good deeds. I especially don't need a deity that is tethered to "historically documented" atrocities telling me this. (Isn't it nice of them to have documented all the horrific and insane acts of their JEHOVAH-SHALOM?) Anyway, I know what need looks like when I see it, whether it's in our country or abroad.
So I've had this dormant Ebay account for quite a while and so I decided I wanted to use it as a way of raising money (and awareness) for charities. I just gathered up a bunch of my books and posted them. 100% of the money goes to Doctors Without Borders, which is a great cause that operates independent of religious or political agendas. Double bonus, right?
